Secrets of Rætikon is going public, its open alpha version arriving on both Steam Early Access and the Humble Store, for the PC.

The game is an atmospheric open-world 2D exploration game, with a unique visual style. Players will fly through wild mountains, encounter the denizens of the forest and discover the secrets of an ancient culture, all the while bearing witness to the struggle between nature and civilization.

The alpha testing version that was previously available to Secrets of Rætikon's backers only features a single campaign and seven animals. Development is incomplete, and makers of Broken Rules have admitted they need more funds in order to finish the project.

Secrets of Rætikon bears a striking resemblance to Broken Rules studio's previous title, Chasing Aurora, and also features a physics engine and simulated ecosystem.

The final version will also include a level editor and integration with Steam Workshop.

The game will be available on both Steam Early Access and the Humble Store starting January 7 at 14:00 PST / 22:00 GMT, at a 25 percent discount during the starting week.
