Norb Software Development has announced that its Civil War simulation Scourge of War: Gettysburg has been chosen by the United States Army Command and the General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas in order to deliver battlefield simulations in the classroom.

Scourge of War will be used in training Simulation Operations Officers and will use sims but also maps, rulebooks and dice war games to show future leaders how planning and tactics work.

The game will also be used in the Missions Command class in order to train students in how they need to exercise command and control on the battlefield.

The class will use Scourge of War: Gettysburg in order to simulate a number of engagements on the first day of the battle with the same name, with the trainees taking on the roles of either Union General John Buford or Confederate General Henry Heth.

Scourge of War is set to get a new Antietam themed battle pack.
