As if there weren't enough games coming out this October, Tecmo Koei has just announced that Samurai Warriors 4 will be released in the west for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita.

The game brings 55 characters, both new and updated, and the same insane action that made the series famous.

A new chapter of the Samurai Warriors saga unfolds, allowing players to perform devastating new maneuvers, such as Hyper Attacks, allowing quick movement on the battlefield and the powerful Rage Attacks that can be unleashed once the spirit gauge is full, along with the ability to seamlessly call a mount into the fray.

Players can also enjoy the game in various exciting new modes and, in addition to the deeper combat experience, they can now take two characters into battle and switch between them in real time.

The game's campaign follows the exciting and tumultuous storyline of the Warring States era, inspired by Japan's rich history, and players tackle its challenges either in single-player or cooperatively, via Network Play.

Samurai Warriors 4 is coming to the PS3, PS4, and PS Vita platforms from Sony, cross-save enabled, on October 21 in North America and October 24 in Europe.
