Volition and Deep Silver, the two companies behind Saints Row 4, have just confirmed that they're currently reworking some of the portions in the game that drew the ire of Australian authorities, which denied a classification for the outlandish game.

Saints Row 4 promises to continue the over-the-top nature of the franchise and, just like the previous Saints Row 3, it wants to hype up its controversial aspects.

Sadly, the scenes featuring adult content and the violence depicted in the game have forced Australian authorities to deny a classification, not even the new R18+, meaning Saints Row 4 can't be sold in the country.

Deep Silver has revealed to Joystiq that it's currently reworking portions of the game and cutting the content that angered Australian officials.

The company is trying to keep the outlandish nature of the game intact by not removing too much, but the editing is still in process.
