Publisher Deep Silver released a new CGI trailer for the upcoming hack-and-slash role-playing game Sacred 3, keeping up with the action-packed and humorous tone utilized in previous reveals.

This time around, the video teases the game's cooperative mode, showing a part of adventurers competing for kills while engaged in a deadly battle against various monster types. The latest entry in the franchise looks poised to incentivize players to come together, teaming up as both allies and rivals.

Although actual gameplay footage depicting the same scene would have been a much better choice in order to showcase how the upcoming hack-and-slash title features, it seems that we have to wait until the game comes out in order to get a glimpse of how it plays.

"A strong team is necessary to defeat the countless enemies of the evil empire. You'll need to equip combat arts and weapon spirits that will complement your team and your own unique play style. However, there are powerful enemies that won't be easily slain. Combine your powers with other champions to cast devastating co-op combat arts.

"Once the dust from the battles has settled, the scoresheet will reveal which hero will stand as the undisputed champion over his or her peers. This establishes a delicate balance between friendly cooperation and cut-throat competition," Deep Silver's Ryan Avery said.

Sacred 3 is scheduled to come out on August 1, for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC platforms.
