Publisher Deep Silver has announced that its upcoming action role-playing game Sacred 3 is set to launch on August 1 in Europe and on August 5 in North America.

The company has also released a brand-new trailer for the game, showing a new gear customization feature from the upcoming Sacred 3, titled "Weapon Spirits," that allows players to infuse their weapons with unique spirits.

The spirits are interchangeable augmentations that bestow various buffs and penalties on the weapons, and some of them are even familiar personalities from previous Sacred games, making a comeback in order to lend a hand in the fight against the hordes of evil.

Sacred 3 allows up to four players to team up and take on the forces of evil over the Internet, in seamless drop-in / drop-out co-op action, while the offline mode allows two players to do pretty much the same thing sharing a couch, on a single console.

The game will feature appearances from characters from its predecessors, such as Seraphim, Ancarian, Khukuri and Safiri, as well as Malakhim, the exclusive pre-order character.

Sacred 3 is, as its name implies, the third installment in the Sacred franchise, offering the player the chance to become a hero that prevails over the forces of evil and saves Ancaria once again.

Sacred 3 is coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms on August 1 in Europe and August 5 in North America, three weeks earlier than previously announced.
