The 2D fighting game is one of the company's best

SNK teased a re-release of the classic Neo Geo fighting game Garou: Mark of the Wolves on Valentine's Day.

Garou: Mark of the Wolves was first released in arcades back in 1999, and then on SNK's Neo Geo console and on Dreamcast, and is still considered one of the best of SNK's games, which is not to be taken lightly, as SNK is the company behind Metal Slug and King of Fighters, among many others.

The 2D fighter has cartoonish visuals and a host of interesting characters with different play styles, and SNK might be planning to bring it to more modern platforms.

The game continued the long-standing Fatal Fury series, and introduced a number of exciting and highly technical mechanics, while at the same time having a pretty well-balanced roster of brawlers.

Garou: Mark of the Wolves was released in 2009 on the Xbox Live Arcade, and given the fact that the company has been pretty active with PC releases lately, we might get to see a Steam version of the classic fighting game.

For the time being, there is no information regarding the company's plans, but we'll come back with the news as soon as it's out.

Until then, you can enjoy The King of Fighers 2002 Unlimited Match, coming to Steam on February 27.
