P.J. Estevez, the design director working on Ryse: Son of Rome, says that the entire story arc of the game involves the experiences that a recruit needs to deal with in order to become a true battlefield general.

The developer is not yet willing to offer actual information on the plot of the game, but he tells GameReactor that, “In normal third person action game you have mostly lone wolf stuff, and so with Ryse you will have some lone wolf stuff, but it's actually about being with your brothers, right, about being part of the legion.”

Gamers will be able to fight on their own, but most of the battles in Ryse cannot be completed if the various Roman units are not well led.

The game is exclusive to the Xbox One home console and is designed to show off its graphics capabilities.

Ryse: Son of Rome currently does not have an official launch date.
