The team at the Paradox Development Studio working on the upcoming Runemaster is delivering a new diary that’s designed to show gamers the class that the entire experience was named after and its core abilities.

In an official forum post, the developers explain that the name is derived from the abilities that users of the class have, which are linked directly to Odin’s knowledge of the runes, which in turn control the magic that imbues all creatures in the nine worlds of Norse mythology.

The company says, “The runes wielded by the Runemaster may protect the troops and conjure damaging Fireballs or Thunderbolts. The Runemaster can coax and change the nature of the battle, weaken the enemy side, strengthen their own or lay devastating damage on the enemy with the help of the runes.”

Each race included in the game will have its own take on the Runemaster, with different ways of making their squad of units more powerful in battle.

Its unique abilities include Rune of Courage, which increases discipline for followers, Rune of Fire, which deals damage equal to spell power, and Rune of Fear, which reduces enemy discipline.

Runemaster should be launched before the end of the year on the PC.
