A French electrical retail chain called FNAC has announced that it is taking pre-orders for the new Nintendo Wii U home console, which it lists as being set to launch on December 7 with an attached price of 349 Euro (441 dollars).

The release date seems legitimate because the store is advertising it in its Parisian location and online.

Nintendo has not commented on the potential December 7 launch date.

Previously, during the Video Product Distributors week, the company that supplies Amazon and Blockbuster listed a November 11 launch date for North America and a list of prices that’s pretty different from the French one.

Nintendo has said that the Wii U home console will be launched on all major markets before the end of the year and this could mean different launch sequences for North America and Europe.

More information and a price point for the device are expected via an event that will take place on September 13.
