Rovio, the creators of the Angry Birds hit series of video games, believe that they have a solid, global brand on their hands and plan to expand it to cover more of the entertainment space.

Speaking during the Mobile World Congress that took place in Barcelona, Peter Vesterbacka, the chief executive officer at Rovio, stated, “We want to create a long-lasting, global brand. This is very important though: we hope we know what we’re doing, but we don’t always.”

He added, “We’re learning every day, and getting better in the toy business, the book business, the games business. It’s okay to make mistakes, especially if you’re going into new areas and doing things differently.”

The next big launch for the series is the Space installment, which will apparently be controlled via gestures and could arrive on the Nintendo 3DS and the PlayStation Vita, platforms that the series has not yet targeted.
