The developers who worked on the PC version of Batman: Arkham City that was just launched have announced that running the game using DirectX 11 causes a number of performance problems and urges players to move to a lower version before a patch is released.

In Games for Windows Live players need to select the Launcher and then the Settings tab in order to get access to the DX section and click on the arrow next to it to change which version is used.

For those who are running the Steam version of Batman players need to click on the Arkham City name in the Library tab and then choose Configure PC Options in order to change the DirectX version.

A community manager at Rocksteady stated, “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience with your gameplay experience and thank you all for your patience as we work to resolve this issue.”

Batman: Arkham City can also be played on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.
