Leslie Benzies, the leader of the Rockstar North studio, says that the coming GTA Online will include solid tools that will allow players to create their own content, including custom deathmatch events and races.

The executive tells CVG, “you place all your spawn points, place some props, place cars, place planes, place anything you want around the world. When you’re happy you’ve playtested it, when you’re happy to publish, hit the button, and it sends it up to the Cloud – our Social Club Cloud.”

Gamers will also have the option to sort through content and to set some content creators as preferred, which will highlight all the events they make.

After the player community masters the art of creating deathmatch events and races, Rockstar plans to enhance the tools so that more complex custom experiences can be delivered.

GTA online will be out on October 1 and will allow 16 players to share the same game world.
