Ubisoft has released a brand new downloadable content pack for its popular guitar learning game Rocksmith 2014, consisting of some iconic ballads from throughout the history of rock.

Rocksmith 2014 is a music-based video game where, as opposed to the popular Rock Band and Guitar Hero franchises, you can actually learn how to play songs.

The DLC includes "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" by Poison, "Love Song" by Tesla, "More Than Words" by Extreme, "Amanda" by Boston, and "Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)" by Cinderella.

Ubisoft has released the new pack just in time for guitar aficionados to get their skills up to par for Valentine's Day, available on Steam, Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.

In Europe, Australia and New Zealand, the DLC will be experiencing a slight delay, and you can read all about it on Ubisoft's forums.

While the "power" particle might make one think about Hammerfall or Symphony X rather than Poison, the ballads fit the bill and are a welcome addition to Rocksmith 2014's expansive collection of music.

Rocksmith 2014 is available on Windows PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, and since November 2014, on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 computer entertainment systems.
