Video game developer Tripwire Interactive is announcing that it is working on a new Rising Storm video game, which is designed to take players to the battlefields of Vietnam and to show them the unique aspects of combat in the South-East Asian Theater.

The development team has not offered too many details on the title until now, but it seems that the core mechanics of the series will be unchanged, with a focus on realistic simulations of both weapons and the various support assets the two sides can use.

The reveal trailer for Rising Storm 2: Vietnam manages to capture the atmosphere of the operations that pitted heavily armed and airlifted American soldiers against the more stealthy Vietnamese forces.

No information about classes and loadouts has been offered either, but the team will probably soon deliver more details about the actual gameplay.

The game will be offered as a standalone expansion for Red Orchestra 2 and is created using the Unreal Engine 3 tech.

Tripwire Interactive is at the moment also doing more development work on Killing Floor 2.

Rising Storm 2: Vietnam does not yet have an official launch date and will be offered only on the PC with extensive support for mods.
