Batman: Arkham Knight gives fresh roles to the main cast of villains and the Riddler in particular will enjoy an awesome storyline, according to developer Rocksteady, who promises to really up the ante when it comes to the intellectual conflict between the two characters.

Batman: Arkham Knight launches this summer and developer Rocksteady has already confirmed that a wide array of villains will go up against the Caped Crusader this time around, starting with the mysterious Arkham Knight and continuing with Scarecrow, Penguing, Two-Face, and more.

However, while answering questions on Reddit, Rocksteady's Gaz Deaves confirms that the Riddler will also play a big role in Arkham Knight as his storyline and conflict against the Dark Knight has been fleshed out even more.

"Riddler has an awesome storyline this time around. His desire to defeat Batman on an intellectual playing field means their conflicts are always personal, and the dialogue team have been having a great time writing for him. Don't want to spoil too much about his role," he explains.

In past games Batman crossed paths with the Riddler, but they mainly dealt with him collecting the trophies scattered by the villain through the environment or with saving civilians from his death traps.

This time around, Riddler will also have challenges relating to the Batmobile, but it's unclear how they'll take place.
