The development team at Respawn Entertainment says that its upcoming Titanfall is designed to take the best elements of the narrative-driven experience of the single player and introduce them in every multiplayer match.

CVG quotes Drew McCoy, a producer, as saying that, “There are so many games now that are just retreading old ground. We've got characters, we've got a story. You have moments, things that people traditionally expect from single-player games.”

The story of Titanfall will be told via a campaign that uses multiplayer matches, against humans or bots, to deliver impressive story-driven moments.

The shooter is also designed to offer an experience that focuses more on vertical gameplay than any of its competitors, which will require competitive players to drop the routines they have learned in Call of Duty.

Titanfall will be out in the first quarter of 2014 on the Xbox One, the 360 and the PC.
