Respawn Entertainment, the developer of the newly revealed Titanfall, says that its new MMO and shooter combination is designed to reward tactical thinking and maneuverability.

Fairfax McCandlish, a lead designer, tells Joystiq that his team had a lot of experience with shooter mechanics and wanted to extend them while giving players a new type of skill to learn.

That’s why Titanfall is designed to reward those players who are able to double jump and find new ways to get around their enemies.

Fairfax McCandlish says, “It’s all about finding something new and interesting, like a new skill to master.”

Titanfall creates a complex world and will feature a solid progression system and mechanics that will encourage squad-based play.

It will be delivered on the PC, the Xbox One and the older 360 from Microsoft.
