Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City came out last month and, even if it didn’t make that big of a splash, it’s now going to receive some free downloadable content in the form of a mission focusing on the team of Spec Ops soldiers in the zombie-infested city.

The new Resident Evil game takes the franchise into the realm of tactical third person shooters and, while it did seem interesting before the release, not a lot of people have bought it.

Capcom is still determined to make it successful, however, and will release the first bit of DLC for the game later today.

This first mission kicks off a campaign that focuses on the team of U.S. Spec Ops soldiers that are exploring Raccoon City. The first one will be completely free, while the next six missions will arrive as paid DLC at a later point in time.

Four new multiplayer maps will also be released in the near future but, until then, you can enjoy this new single-player mission later today on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
