Free multiplayer first-person shooter Command & Conquer Renegade X will be out next month, on February 26.

Command & Conquer Renegade wasn't the greatest game in the world, and many of its would-be fans were left disappointed and with a thirst for a better quality product.

Thankfully, some of them started work on a fan-made Command & Conquer-based shooter called Renegade X, and they (the Totem Arts development team) have almost finished work.

The unofficial shooter initially started its existence as an Unreal Tournament 3 mod, and has been developed exclusively by fans of the Command & Conquer series, now being a standalone game that will be available for free for everyone to enjoy.

Renegade X will launch an open beta period starting February 26, with balance and bug fix patches due during the following months, and the trailer shows its blend of first-person and third-person assault and base defense action.
