Dennis Fong, the chief executive officer of Raptr, says that his company, which deals with game statistics and social network creation, has found it easier to work on the Xbox platforms that Microsoft has created than on the PlayStation from Sony.

He tells GamesIndustry.biz that, “I think overall Xbox has been way more progressive and open, just in general.”

The executive adds that Sony is more interested in keeping control of the PlayStation and the data that flows through it, adding, “getting them to release any kind of data, user profile data and such, has been a lot like pulling teeth.”

The situation seems to be changing as the company is getting ready to launch the PlayStation 4.

Both next-gen devices from Sony and Microsoft are expected to be launched in November.

Raptr will be present on the Xbox One and the PS4.
