Suda 51 and Tokyo Jungle creator Crispy’s Inc have teamed up in order to create the PlayStation 3 exclusive side-scroller Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day.

Longest Day is marketed as the fifth and final piece for Short Peace, a collection of four animated shorts released last year in Japan. Not just everyday animated shorts, as one of them has even been nominated for the Oscars.

The game follows the life of Ranko Tsukigime, a character living a double life. By day, she is an ordinary high school student, and by night, a feared assassin.

Akira director Katsushiro Omoto has been put in charge of supervising the artistic direction of Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day, collaborating with the eccentric game designers in order to deliver a truly stunning visual and conceptual experience.

As the trailer features a gargantuan Pomeranian, a violin sniper rifle, disco balls and strangling under a blossomed cherry tree, Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day certainly seems like an attention-worthy development.

The good news is that the game will be making its way to North America and Europe this spring.
