Indie studio HKFiftyOne Games has released two trailers for their upcoming first-person horror game Quadrant, set to release in August, 2014.

The events in Quadrant take place in 1979, when a returning Apollo mission brings something from outer space back to Earth. A team of biohazard technicians is called in to handle a substance leakage, only to discover that the substance is actually alive, a point at which everybody panics and the facility goes in lockdown.

The two trailers show the usual horror tropes of flickering neons, upturned desks, blood smears and general havoc, complete with nobody bothering to turn on all the lights and with shadowy apparitions making a timid appearance before scampering away.

"Gameplay will be overall based on the concept of a story driven game with the twist of a multi-linear experience. You, as a player, must rely on your own wit, you control your own fate," developer HKFiftyOne Games describes its upcoming horror title.

Although the story is a bit played out, the general mood of the vids foreshadows an atmospheric survival experience, especially considering the studio's previous creations are other two horror games.
