In case you still get the occasional wistful tingling down your spine when thinking about what could have been Starcraft: Ghost, then Psionic Warfare: Total Destruction might just be able to sate part of that longing.

The brilliant Starcraft 2 map transforms Blizzard Entertainment's real-time strategy game into an action-packed third-person shooter.

But the good news doesn't stop here, as the mod does not merely introduce a shift in perspective, but instead adds five playable classes, the opportunity for cooperative multiplayer, as well as multiple levels, and even voice acting.

It's a fast-paced arena survival map where you have to make a last stand against an entire Zerg invasion. Sounds fun, right?

In any case, the trailer looks good enough that it might even fool you into thinking this would be an official Starcraft spin-off.

You can locate Psionic Warfare on Blizzard's Arcade and play it for free, as long as you own Starcraft 2, that is. You can visit the project's home on SC2Mapster if you want to get more information on it, or watch the second gameplay trailer below.

Speaking of Starcraft 2, the upcoming Legacy of the Void expansion is going into beta at the end of the month, so stay tuned for coverage.
