Cliff Bleszinski, the maker of the legendary Gears of War franchise, is currently working on a brand new thing, titled Project Bluestreak.

The mysterious undertaking is being worked on by Bosskey, Bleszinski's new outfit, together with Nexon, the publisher of several free-to-play games.

The upcoming science fiction shooter will also be released as a free-to-play title, and Bleszinski has expressed his hate for the business models that Facebook or mobile freemium games use, so we shouldn't fear any pay-to-win strategies being pushed on us.

In any case, it's still too early to talk about anything, since there aren't any details concerning his upcoming video game, aside from the fact that he intends to follow the League of Legends and Warframe model, where you get a full-fledged experience with ethical microtransactions.

During PAX East, the designer showed off the first ever in-game footage from Project Bluestreak, captured by PCGamer, showing something looking like a samurai armor, and some cherry blossoms in a peaceful Japanese garden.

This would point to the game taking place in a future version of Japan, or at least being inspired by Japanese history and/or culture.

In any case, the game is built on Unreal Engine 4, which means that it's going to look stellar when it's done, and Bleszinski’s past experience with Unreal Tournament and Gears of War should make sure that we get another great experience.
