A brand new report has popped up on the web, saying that Prey 2, the sci-fi shooter in development at Human Head Studios has been canceled, and that publisher Bethesda will formally announce it this week.

Prey was an impressive shooter with an unusual story that saw a Native American called Tommy face off against various aliens. Prey 2 follows the events in the second game, but with a new protagonist who's now a bounty hunter for the actual aliens.

The game was announced last year and hasn't really been detailed all that much since then.

According to PS Focus, via VG247, this lack of information is because the game was canceled by Bethesda, its publisher.

The website's source claims that an official announcement is coming soon about this move but, as of yet, neither Bethesda nor its parent company, ZeniMax, has commented on the issue.
