14 DAY TRIAL // Developer Blizzard Entertainment has opened the pre-orders for Blackrock Mountain, Hearthstone’s upcoming single-player adventure, and has offered a pretty neat incentive: an exclusive card back.
As the developer writes on the Battle.net blog, the time for adventure draws nigh. Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, the company’s foray into the realm of collectible card games, has proved to be extremely popular, so the team is constantly working on new stuff to add to the experience.
The game’s second adventure, Blackrock Mountain, is based on the popular World of Warcraft area of the same name and features 32 exclusive cards to collect.
In addition to this, Blizzard is also rewarding those who pre-order the adventure with instant access to the Molten Core card back, which can only be obtained by pre-purchasing Blackrock Mountain using out-of-game currency, including real-life money, iTunes balance, or Google Play balance.
The adventure features five wings, just like the previous one, The Curse of Naxxramas, with a deadly boss waiting at the end of which one, to test the players’ might and resolve.
The video game got a massive infusion of cards in December, 2014, in the form of the Goblins vs Gnomes expansion, and since then, a couple of archetypes have cemented their hold on the competitive scene.
It’s going to be very interesting to see what the new cards have to offer and how they will fit alongside the established staples.
