The closed beta for Battlefield 4 will unlock on October 1, but those eligible will be able to pre-load the game beginning today.

EA has just confirmed that those who pre-purchased Battlefield 4 can now pre-load the closed beta via Origin, so they can be among the first to start playing it tomorrow, October 1, when the game will be unlocked.

Keep in mind though that according to DICE, Battlefield 4 beta on PC requires a 64-bit OS in order to run: “as a studio, we wanted to focus our efforts on testing the 64-bit version of the game. The full version of the game will also run on 32-bit Windows OS.”

Fans of the franchise who do not qualify for the closed beta of Battlefield 4 on PC will have to wait until October 4 when DICE confirmed the open beta is set to kick off.
