Gamers who are only interested in solo play can avoid the mode

Video game developer Bungie will make sure that Player versus Player and competitive multiplayer events in its upcoming Destiny are always dependent on a choice coming from the player rather than being initiated by a random action.

Eric Osborne, a senior writer and community manager, tells VG247 that “We want to make sure that people are able to pick and choose things they want to do in the world.”

Bungie is not yet willing to show the user interface of Destiny, but it will have clear areas that allow players to know what events are taking place near them and quickly access those they are interested in.

Player vs. Player and competitive modes will also be integrated with the overall story of the game so that gamers will always feel like they have clear motivation for their actions.

Destiny is expected on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the current-gen consoles in 2014.
