Fergal Gara, the managing director at the United Kingdom division of Sony, says that the company has plans to soon launch new video games for the PlayStation Vita handheld, making sure that players have options for the platform.

He is quoted by CVG as saying, “It looks bare in terms of what is announced. The cupboard won’t be bare.”

Apparently, the PlayStation Vita also saw a big boost in sales during the Christmas period, although the executive did not offer any hard sales numbers.

Gara also commented on the Wonderbook add-on for the PS3, saying, “It was also relatively expensive if you didn’t already have a PlayStation 3 or a Move controller. But I think as people learn it’s about more titles, then that would give it some added momentum.”

The launch of the PlayStation 4 will introduce more ways to interact with the Vita handheld.
