The handheld platform won't see its 3G version appear this February

While the PlayStation Vita is scheduled to appear in western territories this February, Canadian gamers might be forced to endure a delay of the higher priced 3G model of the handheld console, presumably due to a problem with the current infrastructure of Sony’s 3G partner from that country.

The PlayStation Vita is soon to be released in its native Japan, and will hit continents like North America or Europe in February, both as a regular edition as well as in the form of a 3G one, which has an always-on data connection offered by Sony through local carriers in each country.

Sadly, it seems that Canadian gamers might be faced of a delay, as Kotaku reports that retailer EB Games has already begun informing customers who pre-ordered the 3G model that it will not be available in February.

According to the retailer, this delay is “due to extensive planning and testing with [Sony's] 3G partner.”

What’s more, EB Games employees are also reporting that their internal software now shows an April release date for the 3G Vita in Canada.

Neither Sony nor EB Games made a statement about this possible delay, so we can’t say for sure if Canada will see a delay of the 3G PlayStation Vita.
