A brand new report has appeared online talking about the PlayStation Virtual Reality headset that's currently in development at the Japanese company, saying that it isn't related to the HMZ line of visors already made by it and that it will debut soon enough.

For the last few months, rumors have been circulating online about Sony's Virtual Reality plans, speculating that the company will debut a special gaming-oriented version of the HMZ series of visors that are already on sale in Asia.

A new report from one of the developers who attended last week's Steam Dev Days event, TSR, claims that Sony is still working on its own PlayStation VR headset.

What's more, the company is thrilled with the interest in VR tech overall, especially since companies like Valve and Oculus Rift are trying to implement their own ideas.

Sony's own headset is still in development, and apparently special VR builds of games like Super Stardust HD on the PS3 are already playable.

It's unclear, however, when Sony will debut the headset.
