The PlayStation Home service is set to receive its last update for the Japanese market in September, but it seems that Sony is not prepared to also drop it for the North America and the European markets.

Other Asian markets will also see support eliminated in March 2014.

Eurogamer quotes a statement from the company as saying that, “PlayStation Home in Sony Computer Entertainment America and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe will continue to fully support their vibrant PlayStation Home communities with full weekly publishes, new public spaces, virtual items, and platform features.”

It’s unclear at the moment whether the Home service will be offered on the PlayStation 4.

It was initially designed as a social space that could be used to showcase game content and introduce new ways to interact between players, but has received a limited amount of support from third parties.
