The development team at CCP working on the Dust 514 shooter says that the imminent launch of the PlayStation 4 will not affect their long-term plans for the MMO on the older Sony home console.

Thor Gunnarsson, a vice president in charge of business development, tells Destructoid that, “If you look at the large third-party publishers, you’ll see that Sony is not falling away from the PlayStation 3. What about Grand Theft Auto V? It took Square Enix years to come to the PlayStation 3.”

According to the executive, a number of players are buying PlayStation 3 home console just to play Dust 514, a trend that will continue in the coming months.

CCP says that it has a five-year plan for Dust 514, the MMO shooter that will get more integration with EVE Online on the PC.
