The platform is easier to develop for because of new architecture

Christofer Sundberg, the co-founder of Avalanche Studios, says that the upcoming PlayStation 4 gaming console from Sony will allow teams to create better game experiences because the entire development process is easier.

The game designer tells Gamasutra, “I think their approach for letting smaller developers in is fantastic. And all of the inputs create an opportunity. They've created a platform for us to make better games.”

Sundberg admits that there’s a move away from home consoles when it comes to gaming, with the increased presence of Steam and with more mobile gaming launches, but he believes that Just Cause will always have a home on platforms from Sony and Microsoft because the team has traditionally worked with them.

Rumors suggest that the team is working on a new Just Cause title that will launch on next-gen devices.
