Sony announces that it will pre-install its Playroom augmented reality suite on all the PlayStation 4 consoles that will be sold, giving players a taste of the kind of experiences that the new hardware can deliver.

The Playroom was first shown during E3 2013 and allows gamers to use both the new DualShock 4 controller and the Camera peripheral in order to spawn a robot that can explore a real-life room and shoot fireballs.

The technology demo can also show gamers how the PS4 can interact with other devices, including selected smartphones and the PlayStation Vita handheld.

Playroom requires the PlayStation Camera, which is not sold bundled with the new Sony console, although a rumor suggests that it was initially part of the package.

Launch date is set for November, and the new device will be sold for 399 dollars or Euro.
