Shuhei Yoshida, the leader of the Sony Worldwide Studios, says that Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls have been two of the video games that have inspired plenty of the social features of the new PlayStation 4.

He is quoted by Polygon as saying that, “Lots of things Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls did, like leaving the message to other people asynchronously – so if you were connected, but not connected at the same time – all these things inspired us when we were designing the system features for PS4.”

The executive says that he likes playing both titles created by From Software and he also likes to watch other gaming on YouTube, which inspired some of the sharing systems included in the PlayStation 4.

The new console is available in North America and will come to Europe on November 29.

From Software is at the moment working on Dark Souls 2, which will be launched in March 2014.
