Adam Boyes, the executive in charge of publisher and developer relations, says that the Remote Play feature of the new PlayStation 4 will increase the popularity of the Vita handheld among third-party content providers.

He tells Kotaku that, “You have this amazing sort of triple-A experience when you’re in bed knocking out a couple scavenger missions in Assassin’s Creed IV right before you go to bed. I think with Remote Play that I’m gonna be playing very little mobile games at home now within the house.”

Sony is also aiming to get more indie developers to create content for the Vita, mentioning Spelunky as the kind of experience that’s naturally suited for the handheld.

Sony has recently launched the PS4 in the United States and will deliver it to European gamers on November 29.

The Vita has failed to deliver the kind of sales that the company was expecting when it was first launched.
