Jon Koller, the vice president in charge of marketing at Sony, says that the PlayStation 4 has enough computing power to attract gamers who are looking for graphics rivaling that of Hollywood movies.

He tells VentureBeat that games on the new console will deliver quality that is “in line with what you see in a Michael Bay movie, an Avatar, where it’s so immersive and engaging. It makes you want to be part of that environment.”

The executive also believes that the social tools included in the PlayStation 4 and the various universes created by developers like Bungie will attract players to the new device in the long term.

Sony aims to sell 5 million devices all over the world before the end of March next year.

The PlayStation 4 is at the moment only available in the United States and European gamers will get it on November 29.
