Andrew House, one of the leaders of Sony Computer Entertainment, believes that the new version of the PSN service for the PlayStation 4 might open up new possibilities for the movie-focused division of his company.

At the moment, more than 100 million people have a PlayStation Network account and the executive tells The Guardian that they are working on “original TV-style programming content, which could be made available with some form of exclusivity to people on the PSN – essentially using PSN as a distribution network – particularly for members of PlayStation Plus.”

Both Sony and Microsoft talked about the entertainment delivery potential of their next-gen consoles.

Reaction from the public convinced both companies to focus more on video game launches during the E3 2013 event.

Still, Andrew House says that a segment of the audience might be interested in exclusive television content for the PlayStation 4.
