Michael Denny, the senior vice president at Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, says that the focus of the PlayStation 4 is linked to gaming, despite the slew of social and sharing features that the company talked about during the reveal event.

He tells The Official PlayStation Magazine that, "This is still a console made for gaming, with gaming at its heart. I think that we learn from all the platforms we launch & systems we’ve developed."

Sony believes that gamers need their own dedicated devices, with features that a PC cannot offer, but at the same time wants to make sure that players never have to move to another device for their communication needs.

The PlayStation 4 is set to launch before Christmas 2014 and is the first Sony console to include Facebook integration and a dedicated share button.
