Hideo Kojima, the leader of the team working on Metal Gear, says that the recently revealed PlayStation 4 home console from Sony has the potential to change the way the players are interacting with their favorite experiences.

The developer tells IGN that, “I think it’s this new type of interaction – this new way of interacting with the game world – that’s more exciting to me. And I want to bring the Metal Gear franchise into that new wider world of interaction.”

Kojima believes that gamers want to have the freedom to play on all their devices, from consoles to smartphones, and that the connectivity features of the PlayStation 4 are perfect for this future evolution.

Kojima is currently working on Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, a stealth open-world title that currently has no launch date and is not linked to the PlayStation 4.
