Justin Wiebe, the creative director working on Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, says that the theme of the game will ensure that the new title is not affected by the shooter fatigue that players are complaining about.

He tells Rock, Paper, Shotgun in an interview that, “There’s a lot of projectile-based characters within the core game. Basically, all we did is find the characters that made the most sense as projectile characters.”

He also mentions that those who do not like shooting from a third-person viewpoint can use the Chimper, who is actually running around eating zombies.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will use the Frostbite 3 engine in order to take fans’ favorite plants from the tower defense game and their zombie enemies to the 3D space.

I managed to get a hands-off demo of the game during E3 2013.
