Sony Online Entertainment announces that two of its most famous MMOs, Planetside 2 and DC Universe Online, will be launched on the new PlayStation 4 home console later in the year.

The company is not able to confirm official dates because Sony itself has not decided when its new device will be available in stores, says IGN.

Both the MMOs use the free-to-play business model and have found important audiences on the PlayStation 3 and PC.

Sony Online Entertainment did not have any direct input in the creation of the PS4, but the developers working there believe that it will offer a solid platform for a variety of MMO titles.

It's unclear whether SOE has any plans to add exclusive content to either Planetside 2 or to DC Universe Online, but current versions of the titles are getting constant updates.
