The development team at Obsidian is officially announcing that it plans to launch its much-awaited Pillars of Eternity video game in the winter of this year on the PC, the Mac and Linux, although the company is not yet willing to offer a clear date.

In an announcement on the official Kickstarter page, Rose Gomez, a producer working on the title, explains, “We wanted to officially update everyone that we are looking good to release Eternity by Winter 2014. So, look forward to getting your hands on Pillars of Eternity later this year.”

The game is designed to use a classic role-playing game universe, created entirely by Obsidian, and turn-based party mechanics for battles.

The title was initially set to be launched sooner, but the team was so successful when raising money from its fans that it needed a longer development period in order to create more classes, deeper dungeons and better content for the gamers to experience.
