Payday 2: Crimewave Edition is due out next month, coming with a ton of additions to Overkill Software's popular cooperative shooter.
In case you're wondering what the gameplay looks like, YouTube user MattTheMusketeer has uploaded a video that shows his hands-on time with the game, accompanied by some insightful commentary.
The video confirms the framerate and resolution of the release, explaining that the team capped Payday 2: Crimewave Edition at 30 frames per second in order to ensure a smoother experience for gamers.
Although the game can run at 60 frames per second, when the action gets a little more heated, the framerate drops to around 30, and players reported that they perceived the dip as a more sluggish performance, so Overkill decided to introduce the cap. Oh well, as long as it runs smoothly.
In any case, the updated edition comes with around 100 different weapons, a ton of new heists, and around 150 masks to unlock, meaning that it's basically the up-to-date PC version of the first-person shooter.
It also marks the game's release on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 home consoles, after having landed on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2013. Payday 2: Crimewave Edition is scheduled to come out on June 12 in Europe and June 16 in North America.
