When asked by Rock, Paper, Shotgun about the chance to eventually play the Muslim and the Pagan civilizations in Crusader Kings II, Henrik Fahraeus, the project manager working on the game, confirmed that his team was working on that, without offering any details on potential launch dates or extent of the new content.

He added, “Of course, we also think playing a Muslim or Pagan deserves some unique new gameplay mechanics, such as polygamy. Most importantly though, it was never part of our ambition – we just wanted to do everything the original CK did, only better.”

Gamers can already use mods to enable Pagan and Muslim characters, but they are lacking some important mechanics that should be specific to their culture and religion, including new ways of inheriting lands and a feature that allows polygamy to exist.

Fahraeus says that the team will also have to adapt the various graphics and texts in order to adapt them to the cultures of the new characters.
