Players will only follow companies that treat them right

Fredrik Wester, the chief executive officer at Paradox Interactive, believes that the next generation of consoles from Sony and Microsoft need to be reasonably priced in order to compete with the PC.

He tells GamesIndustry.biz that, “I've heard $400 dollars mentioned for Xbox One or PS4 and I think that's reasonable. I would pay that.”

Wester believes that gamers are smart enough to chase the experiences they like on any platform they might launch on, as long as prices are good.

Neither Sony nor Microsoft has yet said exactly how much their PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will cost on launch.

It’s unlikely that the information will be offered at E3 2013 because both companies will want to keep player interest high until as close to release date as possible.

Paradox has not yet announced any console title but it is planning to launch Europa Universalis IV this fall.
