Video game publisher and developer Namco Bandai announces that it is working on Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, a new title in the legendary series set to launch on the Wii U from Nintendo, the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft in winter 2013.

A version of the game will also be launched on the 3DS handheld.

The game will be linked to the television series with the same name that is being created by Avi Arad, director and founder of Marvel Studios.

Pac-Man will need to battle and defeat the forces of Betrayus, made up of Netherworld ghosts.

The development team promises that the experience will be familiar but will also have modern elements.

Olivier Comte, the senior vice president at Namco Bandai Games Europe, states, “As a wish to renew the Pac-Man franchise and bring it to the new generation of gamers, we are proud to introduce a brand new concept in the Pac-Man universe, with Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures.”
