The PlayStation Network is no longer offline

It seems that during the recent Superbowl XLIX sports event the PlayStation Network went offline but Sony confirms that the service is slowly getting restored by its engineers.

The PlayStation Network ended 2014 and began 2015 in a not so great position, as it was taken down by DDoS attacks and the traditional holiday rush of new users. Sony slowly brought it back to life and offered those affected by the outages different rewards for their patience.

Now, during the Superbowl XLIX, when most people are just glued to their TVs in order to enjoy the game, it seems that the PSN once again went offline.

Sony declined to offer any details but confirms on its AskPlayStation Twitter account that the service is slowly coming back online.

It's unclear when exactly all of the service's features will be available but fans should at least take solace in the fact that the outage has officially ended and that they'll soon be able to enjoy the PSN and multiplayer gaming once more.

No word yet on what caused the blackout, as it could be the rush of users after the conclusion of the Superbowl or yet another DDoS attack perpetrated by nefarious individuals upset with Sony.
